Alex appointed “Dementia Design Champion”, supporting East Riding Community Hospital’s quest for Dementia Friendly Recognition
ACA are proud to have been selected as “Dementia Design Champion” on behalf of Humber NHS Foundation Trust (Humber NHS FT), supporting the East Riding Community Hospital (ERCH) with its project to make the Community Ward as Dementia Friendly as possible.
An environmental assessment was undertaken in consultation with representatives of the East Riding Dementia Action Alliance (ERDAA) and Humber NHS FT including the Estate Department and Nursing Staff, to produce a report focusing on aspects of the physical environment known to have an impact on people with dementia.
The structure of the report was developed using publications from the Kings Fund and Dementia Services Development Centre from Stirling University to assist Humber NHS FT with the formulation of a Dementia Friendly Scheme Design Brief for the refurbishment of the Community buy phentermine online usa Ward. The report incorporated quality improvements for the life for people with dementia by: maximising independence in activities of daily living; preventing falls; reducing agitation and disorientation and enabling people to enjoy their stay in the ward.
An open event at the ERCH, hosted by the ERDAA, will be held on Wednesday 13 April between 2 and 3.30pm where the general public can share their views and find out more about the project.
