At ACA, we believe in nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for the next generation of creative minds to flourish. This month, we had the pleasure of hosting Sümeyye, a driven and enthusiastic work experience student, who brought an infectious curiosity to our team.

During her time with us, Sümeyye immersed herself in the world of architecture and design, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of projects. She showed great enthusiasm and dedication, leanring how to draft a design concept, assisting with project research and shadowing our team during collaborative meetings.
Sümeyye also explored the use of industry-standard design tools and software, developing a deeper understanding of the creative and technical processes that bring our projects to life. Her thoughtful approach and ability to absorb new concepts quickly left a lasting impression on our team.
Here’s what Sümeyye said about her visit:
Why did you choose to do your work experience with Alessandro Caruso Architecture and Interiors Limited (ACA)?
Sümeyye: I chose ACA because of its strong reputation in both architecture and interior design. I was particularly attracted to how the company blends functionality with aesthetics in its projects. Seeing both architecture and interior design combined was a great opportunity that aligned with my career interests.
What were your first impressions of ACA?
Sümeyye: On my first day, I was excited but also a bit nervous. However, the team gave me a warm welcome and made me feel comfortable right away. The office environment was professional yet relaxed and the team’s collaborative approach and their emphasis on creativity really impressed me.
What activities or tasks have you participated in during your week with us?
Sümeyye: During my week at ACA, I was involved in research, learning how to create 3D drawings, and attending client meetings.
What did you enjoy the most about your time at ACA?
Sumeyye: The project I enjoyed the most was creating design drawings for my “ideal” residential project.
What have you learned during your work experience?
Sümeyye: I gained a better understanding of how interior design and architecture are collaborative processes. I had the opportunity to practice using design and visualization software like Revit. I also saw how important client communication and project management are for ensuring a design is both functional and visually appealing.
How did your expectations compare to the reality of working at ACA?
Sümeyye: I had high expectations before starting my experience and ACA exceeded them. The team encouraged me to ask questions and participate in design discussions. I was also impressed by how critical sustainability is in the design process, which gave me a new perspective.
How would you describe the support and guidance you received from the ACA team?
Sümeyye: The support and guidance I received from the team were excellent. Everyone was approachable and eager to teach. I felt fully integrated into the team and my questions were always answered in detail and with thoughtfulness. This contributed greatly to both my professional and personal growth.
What are your plans for your future career?
Sümeyye: This experience has solidified my desire to pursue a career in architecture and interior design. I have always been fascinated by the idea of creating spaces that improve people’s lives and working with ACA has helped me see more clearly what needs to be done in this field. I plan to continue my architectural studies and hope to work on residential and commercial projects, like those at ACA, in the future.
Are there any additional comments or thoughts you would like to share about your time at ACA?
