ACA Sponsors Hull Children’s University

As a way of giving back to the community, ACA sponsors various good causes.  For instance, we have recently supported Millennium Care to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Charity – Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Children’s University

This time, ACA sponsors Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University.  Over the years, we have followed the excellent work the charity does for underprivileged children in Hull and East Riding.

Recently, the charity’s CEO, Rose James, visited ACA and delivered a presentation on how the charity benefits the children.  She talked us through case studies which were really touching and initiated a connection. Being from a deprived city, Hull, it is pleasing to know that less fortunate children can access some amazing experiences.

ACA sponsors Hull Children's university. CEO Rose James talks to ACA about the charity.

HEY Children’s University offers children living in disadvantaged areas of Hull and EY opportunities to discover their interests and talents.  They take classes of children on experiences to broaden their horizons, build confidence and raise aspirations. For example, children can spend a day at a local business where they learn about the industry.  Or they can visit other cities such as London and Edinburgh, and have a sleepover in exciting venues such as the Natural History Museum and the HMS Belfast battleship.

ACA’s sponsorship package includes offering a local experience for a class for instance. Furthermore, there is a possibility of staff volunteering.

During the visit from Hull Children’s University, the significance of volunteers was made clear. As such, volunteers have an opportunity to set an example to children who may not have a role model. As a business we would like to help the charity in various ways and look forward to working together!
