What is an Associate of the British Institute of Interior Design?

Indeed an Associate of the BIID is the first step on the ladder to becoming a Registered Interior Designer.  Firstly, to be accepted, Sonia had to pass rigorous entry requirements which assessed her training, experience and professionalism.  In fact, eligibility for an Associate is an interior design qualification and somebody at the beginning of their career in interior design.

Thereafter to stay on the register, Sonia has to continue her professional development to ensure her continued expertise in design process, practice and regulatory matters.   Once Sonia has accumulated a minimum of 6 years’ work experience, she can qualify for BIID Registered Interior Designer® membership.

Sonia can enjoy member benefits such as access to numerous CPD seminars, lectures, and courses.   In addition she can access numerous networking opportunities, complimentary tickets to industry events, publications, and industry memberships!
