ACA completed a feasibility study for a community pavilion design in Long Riston.

ACA completed a feasibility study for a community pavilion design in Long Riston.

The building is an extension of the existing village hall with tennis courts and a football pitch.

The Brief
The main aim was to to increase services and activities accessible for all.

Moreover, the emphasis was to design an attractive building offering spaces for intergenerational activities and to deter antisocial behaviour.

The proposed design aims to achieve BREEAM excellent calculating carbon emissions of the specified materials. For instance, timber or galvanised steel form the structure with timber cladding for part of the walls and roof.

Wellbeing was at the heart of the community pavilion design by maximising views of the landscape and natural light.

“After one meeting at site the team kept us posted with progress and then came back with an amazing design that was brilliant in its idea and far beyond expectations. This building will have a positive impact on peoples’ lives that will last for generations.”
