At ACA we are proud of our diverse team of different nationalities and cultures and regularly take time out to learn about each other.
Following Alex’s Yoga session, it was Shinus’s turn to educate us about her love of South Indian music and culture.
Shinu is originally from Kerala, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
In 2019, Shinu relocated to the UK and completed her Masters in Architecture at Coventry University. Thereafter, Shinu joined ACA as a part II Architectural assistant. She enjoys incorporating sustainability into ACA’s designs and hand sketching to communicate basic design ideas and 3D modelling for further developed designs.
Additionally, one of Shinu’s hobbies is a classically singing. So, she educated the team on Carnatic music, its origins and main instruments.
One of the benefits of a diverse team is the food we consume at our lunch and learns! For example, Shinu brought a selection home cooked food for us to try.
On the menu were chicken puffs, similar to a pasty but with lots of fragrant spices and plantain in a light batter.
For dessert, we were treated to crepe’s, with a mixed nut and coconut filling. All were thoroughly delicious.
At the end of next week Shinu will be going to India to get married. We all wish her well and are looking forward to seeing the photographs on her return.
Keep up to date with more ACA news!
