I can hugely recommend ‘Design & Meditation’ by Alessandro Caruso.
A very insightful and reflective book in which Ale shares the inspiration for his design ideas, and how he views the nature of his work. I found it fascinating to read about how Ale’s philosophy of creativity as an architect is integral to everything he does from the importance of personal meditation to ensuring the wellbeing of all of his team.
Pope John Paul II wrote that work/creativity gives dignity to humans, achieving fulfilment and in fact becoming ‘more a human being’. I found Ale’s book very reflective of the importance of creativity and how this work makes us ‘more human’. His philosophy of his work shows that he
views it as more than pure production of outcomes but something which is integral to his wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.
