ACA is proud to announce that the highly anticipated £20 million Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Scunthorpe has officially opened, offering advanced healthcare services to the local community. ACA’s award winning design for the North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, is set to enhance patient access to vital diagnostic services, including MRI and CT scans, ultrasounds, X-rays, and blood tests.

The Community Diagnostic Centre has already garnered international recognition, winning a prestigious World TAC Design Award. The building’s design prioritises patient comfort, with architectural elements inspired by ultrasound waves, creating a serene environment that promotes emotional and physical wellbeing. Notable features include a cantilevered terrace with a tree symbolising the life-affirming power of diagnostic technology, alongside thoughtful landscaping with timber cladding and external planters.
ACA’s Client Service Director, Amelia Caruso commented “I’m really excited to see it as I have only seen the designs as a 3D video”.
This new Community Diagnostic Centre is a crucial part of Scunthorpe’s healthcare transformation, improving local access to critical services and reducing the need for hospital visits. As one of the first of its kind in the UK, the CDC represents a new era of accessible healthcare, enhancing the wellbeing of thousands of local residents.
