Helix Construction has appointed ACA to partner in the design of a new-build, state-of-the-art teaching facility on behalf of South Hunsley School.
The Brief
The brief was to to design a new educational facility within the existing grounds of South Hunsley School providing accommodation for a new reception hall, administrative spaces, stores and toilet facilities, eight classrooms and a plantroom.
The Design
The building is designed to create a unique environment for the Six Form Students and to facilitate access to views of the surrounding nature and of the nearby estuary, where they can share and develop ideas and inspire one another during the learning process.
Materials have been selected to respect the architecture of the local context yet introducing an innovative take to express the building form.
