Successful Planning Approval for Allam Diabetes Centre!

ACA is excited that successful planning approval has been awarded for designs submitted for the new Allam Diabetes Centre in Hull.  Furthermore, construction works have started on site at the front of Hull Royal Infirmary for the £6m new build, on behalf of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Dr Assem Allam, Hull City owner, donated £6m to the Trust to create a centre for the care and treatment of patients with diabetes and metabolic bone diseases.  In addition the brief was to create a striking landmark design at the entrance of Hull Royal Infirmary.  So, amongst other things, the new building will even boast a garden roof!

Designing the Allam Diabetes Centre was a challenge!  For instance the timescales for planning submission were very tight.  Also the location of the site is in a high flood risk area, which required very comprehensive supporting documentation for the planners.

In addition, ACA’s 3D video of the new build, from inception, translated the vision and design intent clearly into plain language to aid gaining successful planning approval.
