ACA’s Alex Represents Design in Mental Health Network at Conference in Milan

ACA’s Alex represented the Design in Mental Health Network (DIMHN) at the International Academy for Design and Health (IADH) Salutogenic Hospital Design & Urban Health Conference on 28-31 March 2019.

The International Academy for Design and Health is a leading global, interdisciplinary knowledge community dedicated to the stimulation and application of research concerning the interaction between design, health, science & culture.

Held at Politecnico Milan, the Symposium created an open multidisciplinary platform to debate current and future trends and the challenges for hospital design and urban health.

To begin with, the objective was to create synergies between associations, institutions and companies at an international level. This Global perspective looked at different topics related to Healthcare Architecture with different lenses. Furthermore, the discussions focused on the use of effective tools and innovative strategies. These strategies studied the relationship between the built environment and health.

Specifically, Alex represented the DIMHN and explored best practice at an international level in healthcare design.  In addition, he delivered a presentation to raise awareness of the DIMHN and the challenges faced in the design for mental health.

“It is great for the DIMHN to be recognised as one of the partners of the IADH and the promotion of salutogenic design principles associated with hospital designs of the future.” Alex Caruso, ACA.
