Hedingham Medical Centre – Planning Approval

Our designs for Hedingham Medical Centre have received unanimous planning approval!

Hedingham Medical Centre – Background

One Medical Group appointed ACA to design a modern building which will provide NHS services to the local community.  In fact, the new centre will cater for around 12,000 patients from Hedingham and surrounding villages.  Crucially, all services will be under one roof, hugely benefiting the patient population.  You can read more about this project here.

Hedingham Medical Centre – Planning Approval

On 19 April, Braintree District Council awarded full planning permission for a state-of-the-art and sustainable healthcare facility.  In fact, the planning officers and councillors unanimously supported the application which will futureproof the local community’s healthcare needs.  Furthermore, the design of the building will add to the overall character of the area.

Indeed, the two-storey building will cater for 11 medical rooms.  In addition, a large waiting area and main reception, dispensary, patients and staff utility rooms, and office spaces. Additionally, our designs include a refuse store area, external landscaping and parking.  In fact, we have applied dementia friendly design principles such as wellbeing and inclusivity to our designs to provide a welcoming and non-clinical environment and an improved experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

Finally, Hedingham Medical Centre achieved planning approval after a public engagement period taking into account the views of patients, local residents and community groups.
